Bushfires Vic Wrap (MELBOURNE)
At least 36 people have been killed in the savage bushfires which have ripped across
Victoria .. with police expecting the toll to rise into the 40s as police press into
the fire zones to check deserted vehicles and hundreds of destroyed homes.
The latest police update includes nine people killed in the Churchill fire in Gippsland
in the state's east .. four in Callignee .. one in Upper Callignee .. three in Hazelwood
and one at Jeeralang.
